ICES Incubator for measurement of phytoplankton primary production acc. to ICES. The ICES Incubator consists of a transparent plexiglass tank ( measuring approx. 350 x 400 x 100 mm) incorporating a turning wheel on which 12 experimental bottles can be clamped. The water in the tank is set in motion by a circulating pump, which is adjustable. The turning wheel on which the bottles are clamped can be rotated at speeds up to 10 rpm. Tank connections for a second water circulation allow for temperature adjustments of the water. No. 450 000 The 12 experimental bottles of 50 ml capacity each have different optical coatings, so that each bottle has individual transmission rates. The illumination unit is equipped with a wave spectrum acc. to ICES, with 10 fluorescent tubes, each one of which can be switched individually. If necessary, a second illumination unit can be mounted onto the ICES incubator.
